National AGM and Leadership Presentation

National Chapter - Open to: members.

For the first time in CICMA history, the National CICMA Executive invite you to attend the AGM virtually!  Typically, one of the local chapters across Canada hosts the National AGM on a rotating schedule.  COVID-19, travel restrictions, and our desire to keep our members safe makes hosting a live AGM not practical. While this is disappointing it also opens up an opportunity to provide all CICMA members with a National update and engaging speaker.

We have secured a Keynote Speaker for the AGM, Jeremiah Brown. His presentation has been broken into a 2-part series and the Ontario Chapter has graciously offered to sponsor Part 1.

Here's a sneak peak at the topics:

Part 1-Sponsored by the Ontario Chapter: September 9th
Title: Self-Leadership in Times of Transformation and Change:

In this keynote, you’ll experience a rollercoaster journey full of insights on achieving big goals, self-leadership, blasting through doubt, and staying resilient during times of great uncertainty from one of the fastest Olympians ever to go from his parents’ couch to the Olympic podium. Jeremiah Brown challenges common notions of what it means to lead and be led in the pursuit of excellence, how to adapt to forces outside of one’s control and stay the course when the pressure is on, all while encouraging a healthy dose of self-compassion and humility. Using vivid real-life Olympic setbacks, failures, and ultimate success, Jeremiah illuminates the true measures for success in any competitive setting.

Part 2-Sponsored by the National Chapter following the National AGM: September 22nd

Title: Bringing Them With You: How to Lead Others During Adversity

In this Keynote, Jeremiah will go beyond the Olympics, taking you through a rebuilding workplace case study from his time leading the Canadian Olympic Committee's development of a new athlete support system amidst organizational scandal and adversity. In this deeper dive session on applied leadership, Jeremiah will compare

and contrast the norms, behaviours, and tactics of sport coaches with the unique challenges you experience as leaders tasked with building trust and guiding your teams in the workplace. When you start to see yourself as a coach of human beings first, and an insurance claims professional second, you will be able to reduce your frustration, increase communication clarity, and improve performance with less residual stress in your life.

Registration will be sent out soon!
